PARENTS are on guard after a five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a playground in north London.
The child was playing in Highgate Wood, Muswell Hill, on Sunday afternoon when the alleged attack took place.
She was with a relative and the pair left together, but when they got home the youngster said she did not feel well.
Later the child told her mother she had been sexually assaulted by an unknown man while at the playground.
The police were phoned and set up a cordon around the playground as they investigated the claimed attack.
The alleged victim was taken to a north London hospital, but no injuries were reported.
News of the attack spread on social media, and parents urged others to “please be vigilant”.
A spokesman for the Met said no arrests have been made and “enquiries continue”.
