Mariah Carey breaks silence on split with James Packer

Mariah Carey became engaged at the start of 2016 after a whirlwind romance. 11 months later, everything crashed.

Finally on Wednesday on the Ellen Show, for the first time, Carey publicly discussed her contentious split with Australian billionaire business mogul James Packer.

The 46-year-old star admitted to Ellen Degeneres that the breakup was a ''whole friggin' thing'.

Asked how she's feeling 'mentally' and whether she's 'happy,' Mariah responded:

 'I think I’m doing well. No. I'm actually. Everything happens for a reason, things are the way they are.'    

When asked about Packer's reluctance to star in Mariah's upcoming E! docu-series Mariah's World asking, 'He didn’t want to be in the docu-series at all. And yet he’s in it. You see him.'
Mariah replied coyly:

 ''Allegedly'. It’s kind of difficult to talk about it at the moment.''
