Lionel Messi proved Barcelona's hero in the Copa del Rey final, as the Argentine laid on both of his side's goals to seal a 2-0 victory over Sevilla at the Vicente Calderon. 

Luis Suarez came off injured and both Javier Mascherano and Ever Banega saw red during a tense, often bad-tempered opening 90 minutes.

But Messi's wonderful pass left Jordi Alba open in the first half of extra time, and La Pulga set up Neymar for another in the dying minutes to end the Andalucians' dreams and take the Copa back to Barcelona.
